i'm buying a....

new digicam.... :w00t i need help deciding on one.... i've always been a canon guy, so i might be a bit bias on my selections..... i'm looking for a compact digicam, or anything that's not too large...budget is abt $250....here's wat i came up with so far..

1. Canon Powershot A400

2. i know this is SLR-like, and it's kinda large, but it's an awesome camera for that price canon powershot S1 IS

any other brands/ models i should take into consideration? i had the Canon powershot S30 and loved it....

Do you want something pocket-sized, like say the size of a deck of cards/pack of cigs, or just a "regular" compact?

Do you want manual controls or do you just point-n-click?

Personally I'd skip both of your choices. They're only 3 megapixels. You can get a nice, good, 5 megapixel camera for $250 nowadays.

I just bought this a month or so ago. I've been very pleased with it. easy to use and pretty good pictures for the price.

that looks pretty nice..i might consider it...

i'm looking for a regular/ compact size.... i dun want any of those extremely compact ones as i want functionality too... reason why i dun want to go over 4 megapixels is becos i dun use all 4 megapixels... it's just too large of a file... any other brands i should be looking at?

If I would be on a Digital cameras market today, I'd look at:

http://www1.dealtime.com/xPC-Olympus_C_765

They are cheap and have more pixeles. Also second one has 10X optical zoom.

Even if most of the time you're resizing the pics for use online, the higher resolution will give you better results when you go to print (assuming you keep the original file).

The A95 was what I was going to suggest as well.
