thats true. i loved dahl as a kid, he was my favorite author. my class was going to write him a letter in grade school after we read BFG, but he ended up dying that week.

I doubt I will go to the movies to see it. I loved the original, even though Dahl didn't.

I suppose it is subjective.

Personally I find his work to be amazing and borderline genius at times. I am not just stroking his sack though because he has made a couple I didn't particularly like, but overall the man is a phenomenal talent in directing.

I'm tired of watching people make a buck off everything else.

Inspector Gadget has been re-done, Dukes of Hazzard, Bad News Bears, now this?

What next.. Is there no new ideas? And I'm sorry but I think this is something going to be ruined. Its a great movie as it is and Big Fish was pretty boring to me and didn't enjoy it.

I won't be seeing it in theatres, but I'll rent it.

I agree too many movies have been redone and done poorly as of recent...but in your list you may want to note.

Inspector Gadget - never before was a movie so it is original based off cartoon characters, same thing they did with TMNT

Dukes of Hazard - again never a feature movie although there were two hour specials made, again based off existing characters.

Bad News Bears - That was shit to begin with so remaking it couldn't have possibly hurt it much.

As for Big Fish a lot of people just plain didn't get the simple beauty of the story and it was a bit deeper than most current moviegoing public wants to put their mind to thinking about. Kind of sad that movies get bad calls from the public if it isn't just midless drivel.
