is it normal for car alarms to be going off when i drive by:driving: its happened on more than one occasion, more with this one car i drive by nearly every day(probably pisses the guy off everytime) at first i thought he was just messin with me but its happened like 4 or 5 times with just that car......is it normal

 

oversensitive alarm :dunno:

 

Are you blasting your radio when driving by?
Is your muffler a bit loud?

Chances are the sensitivity is set hi on his alarm.

 

Try getting an exhaust that isn't over 90 decibles.

 

a sensitive alarm will go off sooo easily. my friend's beat used to set mine off all the time

 

i hate oversensitive alarms! the last place i lived, there was a dodge ram that had a sensitive alarm. his alarm would go off when i turned on my car. it was so stupid!

 

every so often my alarm beeps because of wind! but it wont go off. yesterday i walked by this acura TL and the alarm went off, i just shrugged it off and kept walking. then the security guard at my school asked me what i did to the car, i said i didnt do anything but walk by it.

 

when i was looking for my friend at the mall, i would set off his car alarm several times to page him, and usually after 5 minutes of paging him he would show yeah im lazy


but there are some sensitive alarms out there, i walked by a car and i was about 5 feet away and the thing went off.

 

My alarm goes off if any car with an aftermarket exhaust or broken stock exhaust goes by. I usually jump and run to check the car and have the siren off within 30seconds... It's the sensor.
