Default Cali People - What insurance Carrrier do you Have?

Well yea, just wondering what people are using? I'm currently on Kaiser but heavily considering changing. I'm looking for a PPO Instead of an HMO, though i know the PPO's can be more expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm gonna look into Blue Cross/Blue shield. Are there any other good ones you guys recommend to look into?

I dont feel like dealing with kaiser any longer and with my current health issues i'd rather pay a lil more and get better medical care.

Rick, what was that one you mentioned to me? i forget? hehe so i can call them up?

$10 prescriptions and doctor visits. I choose my own doctor, so it roxors. I actually was going to the head of department for internal medicine at the Scripps Medical Clinic in Del Mar. I'm changing doctor's though, since he's close to retirement and is working part-time now.

Thats pretty good. See thats what i'm looking for, somewhere i can just pick my own doctor, isntead of being assigned to one doctor in a hopsital that sees a million patients.

Do you have it through work or self?

When I was working full-time, I was covered by United Healthcare PPO.
While in college, I'm covered by Blue Shield PPO.

Both companies are excellent IMO. Comparable prescription coverage; minimal paperwork when you go through their pre-approved physicians & specialists.
I left Kaiser Permanente in '92 and I doubt I'll ever go back.
