Taking my car to honda this morning...
guuna cost me $88 bucks to see what the hell is wrong with it, since i can't figure it out. hopefully it's something cheap. :(
what's the car doing? can you give a description of the problem?
a buddy of mine had a similar problem on his car (not a honda/acura) and it ended up being a bad coil. it sounds like you've checked all the electrical stuff, but i doubt it will be an expensive fix. i think you'll be surprised at how simple a problem it can turn out to be...
My car did the same thing for a little bit, it was because it was off timing
ok, honda just called me back and said, it was because of my aftermarket spark plugs. he said the valves also needed adjusted, and the engine needed "decarboned".
all this for a bargain of $353.00. :( these spark plugs have been in the car for 3 months with no problems, and they are ngk iridiums. what do you guys think? |
^^^see above post[edit]
i posted but my thread didn't go to the top?? wtf. |
Glad to see it aint TOO expensive
I think the guy is full of shit.
should i just pay the $88 bucks for the diagnostic and bring my car home, then get new plugs and see what happens?
That would be a cheap fix.
Aren't the factory plugs NGK also?? The "decarbon" service works well depending on what chemical compant they use. We do the same sevices here at my dealership. It worked wonders on my teg.
Yeah the factory plugs are NGK, but not Iridium. I just run NGK coppers...they are cheap and work awesome.
well, what do ya know....bought a set of ac delcos, car runs fine now. :happysad:
thats the last time i pay $40 for plugs. damn iridiums were the problem. $88 for the diagnotics, $8 for the plugs, and she runs good again. thanx for the ideas guys. guess i shoulda figured it was something cheap, it is a honda after all. lol |
I usually just run NGK coppers....like 2 bucks a plug. :)
