If you haven't seen "Ray".....
 

....you absolutely must.

It is a masterpiece.

The film is so deep & honest, it gives you a whole new dimension of appreciation for Ray Charles' talent. Even if you're not a fan of the genre...go.

Foxx was brilliant as Ray Charles; the transformation was mindblowing.
He has the Academy Award locked down.

Not for one minute did I think I was watching an actor in the movie, I thought I was watching the man himself. One of the greatest acting performances I've ever seen.

Wouldn't it be nuts if he got best leading actor and best supporting actor for Collateral? Both were great performances.

If you can get ahold of the Oct. 29th issue of Entertainment Weekly, they've got a great article on the development of the film, interviewing both Foxx and Director, Taylor Hackford. From concept to production, 17 years were spent refining the script, consulting with Ray himself and finding the right studio to back the project...and all of that effort shows.
