Try a four foot halfpipe or quarter pipe, those will improve your dropping in skills. Then u need to work on balancing with quick acceleration....also hard.

The first time is the scariest, then you fall and say "hey that wasnt too bad". Just do it, if you get hurt oh well, you most likely wont. I've broken a lots of bones, pissed blood, and have to have my hip drained everyone now and then but wouldnt trade the times i've had skating for anything.

True, you live and learn (and then you get hugs) Sorry, had to add that last part.

I'm starting on the smallest half pipe in the skate park.

Four or five feet.

Everyone keeps telling me, "after you drop in for the first time and bust your shit, you just want to get up and do it again, and again, then you build confidence to try other things". I just need to loose common sense for a few seconds, just long enough for me to snap that nose down and cross my fingers.

Busted my shit today

Im not as worried about falling now that ive seen its not so bad. It was in the middle of two ramps, on cement. I went up, down, and leaned back on accident.

I'm getting there, im getting there.

I skated for 6 years, then I fractured my arm and busted my collar bone off a loading dock.

the reason people fawk up when they are dropping in is that when your dropping you feel like your losing control.. your not... but then people try to compensate and because of that end up falling on their asses

but once you hit it once, its all uphill from there....I prob busted my ass the first 20 times I tried to drop in on the quarter pipe. Then one time I hit it, then I knew exactly what it should feel like, and how to do it a little better each time. I wish I still skated...:happysad:

I want to be able to go down a roller ramp without wanting to bail before I try to drop in. When im standing with the tail on the lip of the pipe, I feel like the second I lean forward i'm going to slip. I need to stop whining and just do it allready.
