my friend just gave me a USB wireless adapter,..its a linksys,..model number WUSB11 ver. 2.6,..all he gave me was the cord and adapter,..no software CD or anything ,..i already went to the linksys website and downloaded the drivers,..but it says to install the new hardware i need the software,..anywhere on the net i can download the software?

Ummm. I am not exactly sure. I could be wrong. But you run the wizard, and an option comes up asking you if you want that option.

 

if you downloaded the driver my second question is, was it zipped and did you unzip it?

if yes then choose the manual driver install option then use the browse button to point windows to the directory where the driver was unzipped.

 

okay the adapter is installed now

 

how do i get the adapter to scan for my router?

 

there should be a new icon in the system tray (bottom right of the screen)
double click it and then a menu should pop up. rest is self explanatory
