Default digital camera suggestions

Not for me. For my gf. So it's got to be something that is a point an shoot.

I want Compact Flash and either a Li-ion batter or AA's. Doesn't need too many fancy features. Price range... <$250ish

Here's some I've been looking at.

Nikon 2100
Nikon 3100
Canon PowerShot A75
Canon PowerShot A85

The Nikon 3100 seems to fit the best so far. Only needs 2 AA batteries, CF card, dpreview gave it a 8 overall rating. The A75 is a close second.

Anyone have any others that fit the bill?

My vote goes to the A75

Out of all the digital cameras I have used and seen the pictures taken with, I really like Canon the most.

The weirdest I have used was a 4.0 MP kodak 10X zoom which was a nice camera in design but didn't take as nice of pictures as my little SD110 :happysad:

Fuji Finepix 7000

Not sure if it is in the price range you are looking at but totally worth the money.

Well just because it may have a high MP count doesn't mean it takes better pictures. There is a myth that a 7 mp camera is always better than a 4 mp camera which is far from true.

Oye I found that out. Not that my canon took amazing pictures, but for a compact camera it really was nice.

Yeah but it is worth every penny of it.

Check local used retailers, I have seen them for as low as $400 or so in good shape.
