I got home from class and there was a flyer up on my building's main entrance talking about a parade which is closing down parking and driving on certain streets from 3 to 8 pm. I have to be at work at 5:30 pm. These are the streets which are closed down:



My car is in the garage under my building which has a driveway on Henry St. So if I don't get it out of there by 3, I'm screwed. The building also has an above-ground lot which I could park in, but its driveway is on Gilman St so I'm screwed if I park there too.

Looks like I'm going in to work early.

 

You could go park on Wisconsin Avenue and walk home.

That wouldn't do any good because I'd still have to cross State St to get to work.

It's for homecoming.

I guess if I really wanted to stand out in the cold and see a bunch of frats and sororities standing on crappy floats, then I might be interested.

The good part of homecoming is tomorrow; the football game. That's when us students start drinking at 8 am, go to the game totally loaded because they don't serve alcohol there, we crush Northwestern and move on to an 8-0 record, and then resume heavy drinking.

Tonight though, I would rather be at work earning money to pay for tomorrow's activities.
