hornet nests
anyone take one out before? faq says to do it at night and make sure you kill them all.

i read up on it. do it at night when they are less active... wear long sleeves and protection...use the spray type insecticide and just cover the damn nest with it.
be careful...you dont want to do it during the day and accidently piss one off or crush one...they'll send out signals for others to go crazy...and they can sting multiple times b/c they dont lose their stingers like bees. |

Hose and run like a girl.

And if I am not mistaken, you also do it at night because they are ALL in the nest.

Do it at night, once they're all inside. Wear heavy clothing, with minimal amounts of exposed skin.
A friend of mine used canned aerosol foam insulation (from a hardware store) to plug up the entrance, then he gently took the nest down and set it on the curb. Then he drowned the nest in petrol and immolated the little bastards. :oh: |

NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME
for sure. I like that plug it up idea... I'd put it in a big garbage bag and then take it to someones house you don't like. just leave it in the bushes or something :chuckles: |

Yes, it was in the summer of 96. Yes, the opportunity presented itself. Yes, those words were uttered. :chuckles: Other than that, no comment. |
