are u asking us or telling us? i've heard that responding to spam, just causes more. Now they know that its a real, used email account.

You'll be paying the price later on, since your email address is now more valuable...they know it's real and you're there.

In the event that a correspondent whom you regarded as a Spammer was legitimate, you have also opened yourself up to an abuse complaint to your ISP, which could mean getting TOSsed yourself.

It's just a bad idea to reply to Spam, even to click the unsubscribe link that they send you, and it's an abyssmal idea to send them profanity.

(Be aware that the return addresses of much Spam is fake or forged, which means that no one or the wrong person was getting your profanity.)

The most foolproof way to avoid Spam is to create a white list that restricts your incoming email to people whom you know.

If you can't do that (and I know I'll get razzed), the America Online heuristic server-side Spam scanner really does work. My email address is completely open to everybody, and I have had it for years...but I only get one or two pieces of Spam per day.
