Hrm, 1980s

Chicks wearing painted-on jeans that took an hour to get into.
Chicks wearing leg warmers cuz of Flashdance.
Chicks wearing dozens of washing-machine O-rings as bracelets.
Chicks using an entire can of Aqua-Net to do their hair each morning.
Everybody wearing hightop Reeboks.
Guys wearing denim jackets and smoking Marlboro Reds.
Guys wearing spiked bracelets and belts. (chicks too)
Noone cared about AIDS because it only killed faggots and druggies and Hatians that probably got it from either A or B. We felt bad for the poor Hemophiliacs though.
As alluded to in the previous statement, it was not OK to be gay. Despite this, Elton John, Boy George, and George Michael were popular singers.
George Michael actually had a girlfriend in the 1980s, the one from the "I want your sex" video I think.
5.0 Mustangs and IROCS ruled the streets, Hondas were the gheyest cars imaginable, at least until 1987 when someone decided it would be a good idea to import the Yugo.

the fear that California might one day fall off the continent,
the hope that we would all have flying cars by now,
fear of a nuclear war.
