pc help - f'ing popups

i've used spy sweeper and adaware to scan my computer to find what's doing this ... and nothing came up. i've searched though the installed program list to see if anything strange was in there, nothing.

i'll be sitting at my pc and popup ads come out of nowhere constantly. about 1 every 4 minutes.

how can i get rid of this crap?

make sure it's the latest download of adaware not just the latest update file.

and use spybot also, spysweeper sucks!

I combine the trifecta of google bar, spybot, and ad-aware. It works fairly well for me.

I got firefox. Firefox wont allow pop ups, so use it, and turn all your Internet Explorer settings to the maximum security settings. I turned them all the way up because I found that all the pop ups were IE type browser pop ups.

Stop surfing porn sites and get rid of IE

for me I found that IE wasn't that easy to uninstall. I know there must be a way to do it, but what was strange was that evan tho Firefox was set as the default browser I couldn't adjust the home page, or stop the IE popups short of having the most protected settings.

YOu can't remove IE. It's part of windows. You have to remove the programs that are telling IE to open the popups.
