....they didn't "legally" need a lawyer to do this. That sucks and wastes your time but thats they way shit works . Try working in the advertising world for a while...you'll pull every last hair out with jackass's like this :happysad:

It actually doesn't make a difference in this case because this is a "works for hire" contract.

If either party breaches the terms of the contract, they can be sued.

Wow! You all must of really gotten on their nerves for them to cancel like that. They must of got the feeling you'd be constantly changing the plans during construction. Sometimes in business there are people you don't want business from because they are a huge headache.

How many "minor changes" did your mother make?

Sorry to say but I am guessing she added a lot of shit to the work that they didn't feel was worth the original contract price or within the terms originally stated....I would have dropped the contract as well.

Take em to court all you want but my guess is that they wouldn't have dropped the contract if they weren't able to legally and I am sure it will hold up in court and cost your mother court costs as well.
