I have an epson Perfection 1200u. It's a few years old but it's ran like a tank and the app works excellent with photoshop and OSX. I used it through college to get my Design degree and use it on a regular basis for freelance projects. It costs around $200 new .

 

epson perfection series are pretty badass. what budget are you working with?
3170 Pro Photo is going for $199....but if you can and are willing to pay a lil more, the 4870 is pretty badass

 

What does Budget mean

 

Just bought a 12" iBook. There's an HP printer/scanner combo that Apple sells. It's got a $100.00 mail-in rebate bringing total cost to $30.00. HP 1350.

 

then for the money, the Perfection 4870 wont disappoint you and break the bank either.

 

So Epson make's good scanners. The 4870 does look like a good scanner by the way....

 

epson makes good printers too
