Probably because after doing research and finding out that younger people don't associate "hip and sporty" with toyota. A lot of people still don't know that Scion is affiliated with Toyota...as hard as that is to believe.

they look like granny cars to me.

I didn't say they were hip, I said they were trying to appeal to a hipper crowd. Have you seen the commercials? They obviously aren't oriented at families or old people.

yes, but one car doesn't offer a variety of styles or value for young people that aren't dependent on their parents for income. These cars are cheap; they are obviously for younger people that are just starting out but want a decent car w/ a warranty w/out breaking the bank.


The supra would be big, expensive, heavy, and be a gas guzzler...not something that most youngsters will be able to afford sans parents.
