Sure the CTR came to the US last fall. It'll never happen just like the ATR won't be over here.

The only "Type R" that has been in the USDM so far was in the market for homologation purposes.

Changes had to be made to the DC2 to make it competitive, and the rules said that those cars had to be on the street if they were going to be racing.

The DC5 and EP3 chassis are stiff enough, and their K motors strong enough, that Honda and Acura are not in danger of failing homologation. The DC5 ITR and the EP3 CTR are not even limited production in their home markets. If you want one, you order one, they make one.

Moreover, the DC5 and EP3 are not living up to the reputation of the DC2 ITR. They're just not cutting it. I don't think they'd dare produce a "Type R" in either of those chassis for the USDM...it'd be a laughing stock.

On the other hand, the CL7 shows some real promise, and is already being supported by Real Time Racing, Spoon, King Motorsports and others.

Ichisima has spoken well of this CL7 chassis when compared with the DC5 and EP3, saying it is as nice as the DC2.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a USDM "TSX Type S" or something like that if the CL7 racing programmes are successful!

I'd buy one of those!
