I played Metroid Prime and although it was a fun game for a while it became repetetive and once beat it was done...no reason to return to it. LOZ didn't catch my attention at all and aside from playing it once or twice I was not as impressed as I had hoped. Viewtiful Joe was an innovation in side scroll games but it left me wanting a more interesting game.
A couple games I will concede to liking a lot on the GC is Luigis Mansion, Pikman and Pikman 2, as well as Super Mario Sunshine, but those titles alone do not warrant even now the reduced purchase price.
I currently have 70 titles on my Xbox and play almost all of them repeatedly because they hold my interest and have a lot of replay value or multiplayer capability as well as online play. For the PS2 we have probably 40 titles or so and again we play them over and over again for the same reasons.

i think nightshades main point is nintendo isn't what it used to be which is true. because if you look at it from a sales point of view ps2 is out selling the gamecube. they must be doing something right.

look at the list of games you gave that would warrant the purchase of a game cube, most seem to kids game. except for metroid, which has a fan base from the original nes.
