Default HID Problem

hnoes: About a week ago my passenger side HID begins to flicker during the first 10minutes when turned on. It does it intermittantly and sometimes cuts all the way off. I don't think its the bulb or ignitor but I'm leaning towards the ballast. Normal flouresent lighting like you see in offices have ballasts and you can tell when they need to be replaced when they start flickering, so I'm thinking the same thing is causing my HID's to go bad. Before I go and spend $79 on a replacement ballast I wanted to some more opinions. What do you think?

This is a sign that you are not giving enough power to them. Most likely case is a weak battery. Which kit do you have?

I thought that once the ballast got them ignited, they ran off of a normal 35-55 (depending on the application) watts? :dunno:

I find this hard to believe. The car is a 2003 and I don't run anything that would pull enough power to cause my battery to go low. I've got my stock radio/speakers, etc. The kit is made by Supervision and they are 6000k's. I know they aren't a name brand kit but I put over 43,000+ miles on them before having any problems.

Yea my kit runs at 35watts compared to the stock 55watt bulbs. :dunno: I still think it's the ballast.
