run spybot or adaware yet? Your computer becomes slow since then it mean there's some trojan or whatever. Norton Antivirus didn't catch anything.

Yes I've been running Adaware, Spysweeper, Spybot for the past few days. All updated and finding not too many spyware.

Can you tell us about the things that happened to your computer the day you noticed the problems?

It happened when I was running the Spysweeper program. I had AIM, IE and iTunes on as well. I was talking to someone on IM and I noticed the IM sound sounded like it was underwater. Then when I played an MP3, it started doing that skip I mentioned eariler. I noticed when I did put Spysweeper on "pause", everything else would run faster obviously and the sound would be fine. But after I had closed that program the sound never was the same.

I used to get broken sound when I had too many progs open with not enough ram. It would mainly happen when scrolling in IE while listening to mp3s.

I'd try uninstalling that app. I'm almost willing to bet that program corrupted a .dll and that's what's going on.
