PC help question

Default PC help question

Well i have a question, everytime i try and save an image from the net, it saves it only as a BMP file. Even gifs taht are animated save as BMP files and i guess they dont become animated anymore, or i cannot see the aminated when i open them up on my pc. help how do i fix it?

:dunno: I have had the same problem for some time now and I just stopped saving images from the web all together because of it.

tools
internet options
delete files
delete all offline content.....

dammit!! well something is wrong with mines because i tried a bunch of times right now, and it keeps freezing up. I even restarted and tried to clear the files from tools section and it froze again! dammit.

It takes a long time to clear the files...you would be amazed how many files are in there.

Set it to clear then go do something else (not on the computer) and come back to it in 20 minutes or so.

and yea, it does take a long time.

The MSIE cache's chances of corruption and harbouring damaging files gets higher the bigger the cache is. The trouble is that we need pretty big caches these days.

There's an "optimal" size for the MSIE cache. Can anybody tell us what that is? :P

For whatever it's worth, the America Online client's Top Speed Cache has nothing to do with the MSIE cache. It works well and can be much bigger than the MSIE cache with few problems.

If there ever is a problem, the America Online "Check Computer" function will find the error and clear both caches.

Assuming you guys have DSL or cable, your temporary internet files cache size should be no bigger than 10 - 20MB. It's quicker to download the file than it is to search a bloated cache.
