I'm from taiwan, my mom was downstairs watching that crap on our crazy chinese sattelite dish. All i know is that the current pres is a giant doosh bag that doesn't keep his word.

I'm pretty sure there's gonna be some sort of a war if that goes down, the US doesn't want taiwan under communist rule, it kind of goes against the whole democracy thing

the problem is that hardly any countries (if any at all) recognize taiwan as an independent country. the UN does not. so although probably everyone wants to, it's very hard for countries to support taiwan diplomatically, politically, and militarily.

the US can send a warship to the strait of taiwan to put an end to missile tests, but if china launches a full scale invasion, what could they really do? for one thing it'll be over before the US could get there... the US and china are both in the UN.. the implications of a country like the US engaging an ENOURMOUS country like china "unprovoked" are pretty serious. i say unprovoked because they wouldn't be making a direct attack on a US target (like for example, bombing pearl harbor).. because taiwan is not recognized as an independent country, china invading it would be seen as china just re-taking some territory, which is what their reasoning is. if any countries defy china and decide to fight them off militarily, it could shake the UN up pretty bad, or even lead to it's demise.

There is some speculation that the president also staged his assasination. He's sick in the head. :loco:
