im looking for a shop / shops on canal street that might sell speakers. i know most of the stores probably have something, but i mean a store that has a lot of them. im looking for ev's (electrovoice), beymas and / or eminence speakers.

that's down there in chinatown. tons of shops everywhere, but i don't know why you want to buy speakers there.

i've never seen anything good as far as electronics. not any good deals anyway. all those shmucks price their stuff at double the retail price and then do shit like 50% OFF ENTIRE STOCK, so you're just getting it at retail. if they don't have some kind of 50% off sale, if you try to haggle, they'll be like, "i make you a deal, i give you 50% off".. and then get offended if you try to get them to go cheaper.

actually, that's more common up around times square. but in chinatown, it's mostly cheap crap anyway.

save yourself the hassle. if you want a good deal and good equipment, do some research online and order accordingly.

i think there's some electronics stores in time sq, but they're probably shady. just go to shopnyc.com and see if there's anything there

 

The only shop I deal with is Uncle Steve's.
There are two shops with the same name, only one deals the way I like. DO NOT GO TO THE ONE WITH THE BEIGE WALLS OUTSIDE!!
As far as shady characters go.... they're everywhere.
What I do is,.....for example,....If I want a pair of subs, ... I'll do research on what it looks like,(appearance, specs, etc.) and then I go shopping and I make sure that everything matches up.
This is the only way to minimize getting scammed in my opinion.
