Did my friend's suspension last night

and I was owned by the rear lower shock bolts. We put koni yellows on his civ si a year ago, we'll I did the front and let him do the rear so he would learn how. It was nice and smooth then all hand tools used. Well this bastard must have been on some serious roids when he tightened the lower shock bolts cuz we couldn't break them loose w/ a 24" breaker bar and a sh!tload of PB blaster. We had to rent an electric impact wrench from Home Depot. After we got the bolts out, the bodies were twisted:eek: 1 was about 1/4" twisted. I can't believe they didn't snap. We didn't finish the suspension till 1:30am last night.

Oh we put type-r springs on his SI, removing a set of skunk2 coilovers. drop was nice and should ride better as the skunks had really high rate springs.

Congrats. I'm assuming that you live in an area where you get snow? Could it be possible that those bolts could have started to rust together and that's why they were so hard to remove?

possibly, but the way in which they were twisted was in the tightening phase, and he broke 2 14mm sockets when he did the rear, I'm supposing both on the lower bolts. And we PB blaster'd both bolts for about an hour.
