Do We Really Need All These SUV's?
 

It goes without saying, I suppose, that the market is "polluted" with too many SUV's. But now comes an announcement that Toyota is contemplating three MORE SUV's to add to their lineup, which already consists of the RAV4, Highlander, 4Runner, Sequoia and Land Cruiser (not to mention Lexus's RX300, GX470 and LX470). Why?

Comments? It's ridiculous.

SUVs are selling good right now, all the companies are going to want a piece.

i for one am not glad that there are all these new SUVs coming out.

but looks like several auto makers are also moving towards sporty station wagons.

I like them better then SUVs.

I like my MDX, it comes in handy especially with our 8 month old boy. Ever try to put a baby in a car seat with a lowered car??? OUCH!

Its cool to have two or three SUV's in your lineup, but toyota has gone too far, they have so friken many its not even funny.

They just opened a dodge dealership a few blocks from my house literally 60-70% were all durangos. Then the rest were truck anda few cars.

not saying not to own one...why so many that are the same?

My mom just bought a brand new LX470 and I think its a waste of money. The car it self costed like 64,000. Every gas fill up is like 34 dollars and that last a week. It is slow, handles like crap. It does have a good ride though.

I hate SUVs...they're so impractical it's not even funny. but it's all about image. :rolleyes:
People claim they buy them to have a lot of room...but the typical minivan will have more interior room, a better ride, and in my opinion look way better.
and they get those big ass Yukons and shit that guzzle gas with their huge ass V8s and cost like $50+ to fill up...and they never tow anything and drive around by themselves....like they really need a car that huge to drive themselves around everywhere. :rolleyes:

Unfortunately, car manufacturers are here to make money. If the market calls for SUVs.....which it is....then they will make more SUV's.

They make such crazy profit margins on SUV's the car makers wont stop.

If it wasnt for SUV sales, GM and Ford would NOT exsist today.
