i finally ordered dsl for my new place
hopefully it'll be activated soon. i went with a 1 year contract so that i could get the higher speed service for less. 768-1500/256 for the same price i paid for 384-1500/128 before. the only dumb part is that it's a dynamic ip and PPPoE. but i guess it'll be worth it. i won't be serving much from my house so i don't really need a static ip. it was just nice having it. but :yay: no more 56K for me.

bellsouth is dynamic/pppoe
get a linksys router & set it on "keep alive" & it'll send a ping every 30 seconds, causing your isp to think you're still on & you can keep an ip for a long time.
