Default What is the bore and stroke...

of the following engines?

B16A
B18A/B
B18C1
B18C5
B20A

How many share interchangeable parts like rods, pistons, cranks and so on?

b20a? thats the engine from the old preludes. do you mean the b20b from the crv? anyways, they all have the same bore of 81mm except the b20b which has a bore of 84mm. the b16a has a stroke of 77mm. the b20b/b18a/b has a stroke of 89mm. and the b18c1/5 has a stroke of 87.20.

someone correct me if im wrong. h:

Sorry. I did mean the B20B from the CRV.

So what then, if I took a B18B, and used rods from a B16A? I would basically destroke the engine, no?

so then the B16A rods will fit on the B18B crank?

Yes the rods should fit the crank. As long as the bearing size is the same. However your problem will be that the pistons will never reach the top of the cyls. The B16 uses a shorter deck height than the B18. You would have to use custom pistons that make up the diff in deck height to reach the top of the cyls and compress the gasses. That will make a heavier rotating mass and negate the benifits of the shorter stroke.

The way these engines are designed, would they have good midrange torque? I mean with the stroke being slightly larger than the bore.

No. Stroke comes from the crank, not the rods. You would change the rod to stroke ratio, but not the stroke.

Ultimately, rods must be matched to the crank in order to be the proper length. In order to destroke or stroke an engine, you need a custom crank paired with custom length rods.

To destroke a b18b, you could use b16B rods and crank, but not b16a. The b16b uses an Integra block.
