Default LS/Vtec Ecu question?

I'm almost done compilling the stuff I need for my LS/Vtec swap into my 89 Civ-4door, and the ECu's up next. My question....what ECU should I be looking to get? Can I use the stock LS Computer and Chip it? Or do I need a p72 from a GSR, or any other Vtec computer? Or are there other options? Any help will be much appreciated.

you need a VTEC computer. the P72 will work, but it has functions you dont need unless you used a GSR head.

assuming you used a B16 head, all you really need is a PR3 ecu if you used the stock firewall harness. this ecu is OBD0, and will plug right into your stock plugs.

as for other options, you'll need a harness converter, which range from $150-250. those ecu's would be the P28, P30, and P72 (minding the note above)
