Plasti-Gage sucks
I'm building a D16A6 for my autocross CRX, and I had my first experience with Plasti-Gage checking main bearing clearance. I took two different readings, and got two different clearances. Save your money, just use micrometers to check clearances.

plastigages are the best thing since portable alcohol. hands down. I've been using them for years and NEVER had a mixup. micrometers are cool too but I'm a plastigage kinda guy.

Well, I figured out my error, and got much better readings out of the Plasti-Gage, but I'm still not convinced it's completely accurate. I've checked 3 different oversizes for my rod bearings, and according to the Plasti-Gage, the oversizes are only about .0002" different. Seems a bit small to me.
