i heard stock itr have trouble handling turbos, what needs to be done for the motor to safely handle being turboed

Not doing it at all would help. Turbocharging a motor built to be a nice NA engine is stupid. Why waste $5k on motor with high compression to turbocharge?

lowering the compression would help. but doing that to an itr engine is such a waste.

so are you saying supercharging a type r is the only option?
and
so supercharging one would be better than turboing it?

Any kind of forced induction on an itr is :ghey:

the only option with an itr, IMO, is staying NA

can someone whos really an expert on this explain it to me or point me to a source, honestly i dont know anywhere near as much as you do about this

i just know that there are people that turbocharge itrs and some that take your side, id just like to know....well, basically everything about it
