Default Undertaking my first EGR intake manifold cleaning_ HELP!!!

Curious to know_ those of you who did the EGR intake cleaning without installing the pipe, to what extent did you follow the instructions given_ i.e. did you use the "hand-turned 8mm drill bit? Did you use a parts washer/ what did you use to wash the part(s)(I don't own a parts washer)? Did you torque the nuts and bolts as instructed?
I am a ratchet and socket person. This is my first experience with a torque wrench. I purchased a 10-100lbs. wrench. The instructions warned not to set a torque value lower than the lowest wrench setting ( in my case that is 10lbs.). How do I achieve 16lbs. in two steps without being able to set a value below 10lbs..
I intend to attempt to do the cleaning next Weds( June 6, 20011). Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated as this is my first attempt at this. Thanks in advance!
