Default synthetic oil advice

hey everyone, my 02 accord is due for an oil change and i was thinking about putting in mobil 1 synthetic oil. I have about 6700 miles on it now, but i been hearing that i shouldn't put in till the 10k mark so the engine could be broken in. is that true.

I never followed the manual. I changed my oil in my 2002 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L after the first 1,000 miles. I've always done this with every car I've had. Since then I have been running Mobile 1 Synthetic, and changing it ever 3k. Just be sure to use Honda Oil Filters.

Just my $0.02!

Castrol full synthetic is what most of my mechanics recommend. Y did you wait so long to change the oil. I thought you were suppose to change it after like 1500 when you get the car brand new.

Most mechanics recommend Castrol Synthetic because there is a bigger markup (more profit for them to make). I was actually reading Consumer Reports a couple of months ago, and it rated Mobil 1 Synthetic #1. Most tuners I know swear by Mobil 1. Castrol Synthetic is cheaper, but that's the only good thing about it.

the manual said the first oil changes should be at 3750 under servere condition. i changed it at that mark, so this would be my second oil change, and i want to change to synthetic oil because i've heard good things about it.

Although I use Mobil 1 myself, the 5th gen accord with 1 million plus miles used Castrol Synthetic.

Okay, along this same subject line, is there a down side from switching from Castrol 5W-30 Syntec to Mobil 1 5W-30 syntec at 60K?
