Default 98 V6 Coupe Timing Belt

What are your thoughts on replacing the timing belt/water pump/etc., on a 98 V6 with 87k miles?
I'm not convinced that I have to drop all that $$$ right now since it purrs beautifully.
Maybe another 10k? If it does go, it's a potential disaster.

It's in for new brakes up front and Mobil 1 (5w-30, since 35k).

Best (only) V6 I've ever owned.

Funny thing about timing belts. They work absolutely perfectly until the moment they break. Then you get to post about how you really wish you'd changed it last week, and does anybody know how much $$ for a new engine...

I thought it was supposed to be 90k for timing belts, and Rhorob's getting close to that. He wanted to wait another 10k so that's about 100k... It's all about luck - they aren't guaranteed to break at 106k.

What's important is that there really aren't any warning signs for a timing belt. Just because Rhorob knows that 'it purrs beautifully' doesn't mean anything as far as the timing belt.
