Default ???Custom Interior???

I am thinking about painting the trim myself instead of buying a dash kit or something...

Anyone have any DOs/DONTs/Tips/Tricks on painting the trim.

I dont want it to fade or chip or something like that...

Any pics of your own interior would be nice...thanks a lot.

most people will tell ya not to paint the interior. Most of the time it looks good for about a month then starts to fade/chip reguardless of how good of a job you do on it. I have considered painting the trim pieces on my car but i dont want it to turn out bad because you will never get all the paint off if you decide you dont like it.

just leave it alone....Civic interiors don't look bad to begin with, so just leave it be

The interior on my old hatch was painted black. It started to chip and looked really ugly after a while.

i painted my interior trim red, i took it all out of the car, sanded primed painted and clearcoated i did all this about a year ago, i maybe have a chip or 2 but otherwise it has held up perfectly, my advise is if you want to do it to take your time and use alot of paint remember you get out of it what you put into it

I used NAPA primer, Duplicolor paint and top coat. I did about 20 coats of paint, and it turned out awesome. My friend has a monster truck. He went through all sorts of paints and primers to figure out what worked. He pained his doors, they're always getting kicked at b/c that's the only way you can get out. Anyways.... use the NAPA and Duplicolor combo... his hasn't chipped in a year.
