do you think it would be very hard if i tried doing it myself? has anyone done a swap without having any prior experience with swapping motors?

i did mine with no experiance or mechanical knowledge. it's a lot of fun as long as you keep it that way and don't get frustrated. as long as you get a complete changeover kit and pick a motor that goes into your car kind of easily you'll be alright. and there's a million people on HAN who can tell you whatever you need to know.

Having the Helms manual(s) helps tremendously. Also, there's tons of info on the web.

What kinds of stuff have you done to your car or other cars in the past?

I did my first one with no prior experience. It was easy IMO. My cousin and I also did hi turbo kit and wiring on his RSX with no prior turbo install experience.

The first 2 swaps I did, I was drunk off my ass, and never had a problem. Both were my cars. Other people's cars I do sober. Mine, why not have a few?!?!?!

I would definately recommend you pick up a helm's manual for yoru car and one for your motor (compare wiring if you have to). Each will have about a 5-7 page section where they explain how to remove and install and engine (very helpful). Before I did my first swap I had just done intakes, exhaust and brake pads.
