Default mini swap

my buddy blew his engine ( 93 dx d15) and I gave him my engine (97cx d16) i think? i just have a few questions for him.

1. could he just swap blocks or head
2. would he have to change axel
3. would he need to swap computer

any suggestoins would be great!!!:thumbup:

There is deffinitely a 97 CX.

Are you sure? Kelly Blue Book lists a CX for '97.

The D16 block should be a direct replacement for the D15 and the stock axles and electronics should work fine.

There is a 97 CX. Heck there was even two recalls on it:

You _could_ switch out the computer if you really felt like it, but honestly there isn't going to be much of a difference.

uh, is the 6th gen cx like the 5th gen? 8 valve? if it is, you'd have to swap the whole engine in. 16 valve heads and pistons meant for 8 valve engines don't go together!

Oh wow, I thought there was no 6th gen CX. I thought there was only the DX hatch. What's the difference between those. Sorry for giving wrong info.

the 6th gen CX has the same D16Y7 in it as the DX and LX...it has 16 valves, not 8

The 8 valve CX engine has valve reliefs for 16 valves.
