H23 into a 4 Generation Accord??????
I have a 93 Accord LX, can you please tell me, If it were you would you install the H23 or a H22a? Is the H23 DOHC Vtec or Non-Vtec? And if it is Vtec can my tranny handle it? Would this be a one for one swap or will I have to make modification to accomodate the swap? The reason I would like to keep my tranny is I just replaced it 2 years ago with a newly rebuilt one. If I can save on the tranny then I would love to invest my funds into the engine. Do you know where I purchase a good H22a or H23 from?

H23 = 2.3L DOHC nonVTEC, 160hp
H22 = 2.2L DOHC VTEC 190-200hp
it will fit in your car, with the same 5spd tranny

Hmm.. Don't bother with the H23... just because you get that extra 70cc's or whatever it is, and something like 3 more ft/lbs of torque... why not pay an extra grand and get VTEC too? The JDM h22a from a 92-96 Prelude is 198hp and 161ft/lbs of torque, and any swap you get from the net should include axles, ecu, wiring harness, and tranny. Extras are nice, but I've heard that they don't always work (eg: A/C compressor)... I bought my h22a from Osaka JDM motors, and I was impressed... the engine has been in my car for a month and I'm very satisfied with it.
<shrug> My humble opinion anyway.
