Default Maintenance Required Light?

I can't find the manual for my 98 Honda Accord. How do you reset the mtc require light? Thanks.

Something about turning the car off, then put it in "on" position, then hold down the trip odometer reset button until it quits blinking...that's what I remember from memory. Sorry if that's not entirely accurate, but try that.

Hold in the odometer reset button while you turn on the car, keep holding it in for maybe 10 or 15 seconds. I don't think you actually have to start the engine.

As far as I know, that light just goes on every 7500 as a reminder. I'll try the tips for the light. Thanks.

yeah, it goes on around 7500 miles. like they said - hold odometer reset button while turning key to on position & hold it in till light goes out. if it keeps coming on, you need to get the code scan done (which will turn the light out also).

mine came on & i thought it was cause i forgot to reset it once i had the oil changed, so i reset it. it came back on the next day & i went to the local parts store to have the code scanned (free of charge ) & it ended up being my cat going bad - found out 300 miles before warranty ran out otherwise it would've been $600 outta my pocket to have it replaced

so what i'm sayin is that "idiot" light as some people call 'em is there for a reason some times.

Default Thanks

I'll get the code scanned in that case. I can't get the light to turn off.
