Default Painting valve cover....

any input? what should i look out for? how do i go about it. thanks

I got my valve cover powder coated looks great and its durable. personally a lot on the painted ones i've seen look like crap; too many contours in the cover and the paint doesn't lay all that preety. (2 cents added)

How much did you pay to get your vavle cover powder coated? How long did it take them?

powdercoating looks much better than painting IMO

i painted mine and it looks AMAZING! i painted it black but got it sand blasted first!! all for 10 buks!

Default painting my valve cover

does anyone know how to paint valve cover? do i need to sand it first or need primer it first?

jus have that bitch powder coated it will 8 times better! and its not that much $$$

Before you paint, strip the old black stuff with good jelly paint stripper. The stuff that comes in cans at Home Depot. Wipe it on and wait a few minutes, and the old paint wipes right off. Repaint with hi-temp grill or engine paint, no primer.

yeah i just did that turned out good....only problem is all i did was sand. I'm sure what i didnt get off will flake in a month or so.. but no biggie. I'll just do it right then and repaint it. Only $4 at walmart for engine paint. good chance to check your cams too.
