Listen closely when you push in on the clutch. Does the sound stop completely or does it kind of dwindle away like it has been rotating and pushing in the clutch makes it stop spinning. If that is the case, then yes, it should be your throwout bearing!

When's the last time you changed your transmission fluid? (Possible internal transmission problems) Try doing that change and see what happens. Have you missed a gear lately? It's possible some teeth on a gear may have been tampered with and has lost the smooth sharp edges. Cracks and other flaws will not only give you noise, but if allowed to worsen will eventually sieze the transmission or cause other internal damage.

Also doublecheck your clutch master cylinder fluid levels and you might also look into adjusting the clutch pedal engagement point. Most Exedy's (don't know what kind you have) require some adjustment to prevent too much engagement and therefore metal rubbing.

Could be the clutch fork rattling. If the throwout bearing is improperly installed it can "wiggle" a bit, rattling the clutch fork.

Nice post, I'm going to have Acura look at my car. It's post-curb hopping experience, so...

In that case, you could have bent some heat shields and engaging the clutch is making them vibrate against something. Check out everything external to your engine first, then hand it over to a stealership.

The dealership LOVES me, they do all my ish without question. They looked at the heatshields and everything already, because I hopped a curb the night before I got my Icebox. They put that in for me for free & checked everything out.

Apparently, the ITR has an A-pipe (header, right?) rattle, as mentioned in a TSB. They know I'm looking at the Toda 4-2-1, so they said don't worry to much about it.

In any case, I've been concerned with the tranny anyways (I grind 3rd WAY too often), but I've got the 100K powertrain warranty, so whatever.
