rebuild?
what would a rebuild cost on a b18b? i lost oil pressure in my car and may have done serious damage and may just end up rebuilding with high performance parts, crower cams in the head, but not too sure with the bottom end? any suggestions? and what about price?

I don't know how much it will cost to rebuild but the machine work on the block is going to be a small fortune. As for the high compression pistons it all depends on what you want to do in the future. If you plan on going turbo at some time than you should keep that copression lower so you can run more boost or the opposite if you never want turbo.

im also lookin for info on a bottom end rebuild i want to keep it all stock except for a spoon "high compresion" head gasket and maybe some stronger then stock piston rings whats my ball park for the labor?

around here and most likely a lot of other places labor is around 50-60 per hour. The job is going to take a long time I would say around 16 to 24 hours, so you can do the math. Then you plus the parts. I would say anywhere from 1500 to 2000. You could save money by pulling the engine yourself and even pulling it all apart. If you keep it all stock then there is no reason to have the spoon high compression gasket or even better rings.
I forgot about the boring of the block I really have no idea what that would cost but would probably be safe to say that you could at least double what I said above (total).

It would be cheaper to rebuild it because your still going to have to pay to pull and put it back. Do you have a link because I would like to see where you can get one and installed for that kind of money and most of those engines you buy are used and your not sure on what your getting. At least with a rebuild you know it basically brand new.
