What the hell are you talking about?
There's a button under the dash, above your right leg. Stick your head under there and you'll see what I mean. Press button for like 5 seconds when the car is running and it'll clear. After 90,000 miles (I think) it just stays on, can't reset it. At that point, unplug the connector that plugs into that button.

i assume he actually meant CEL, and not the maint req'd light.. anyhow, it'd help to know what car you're talking about. tho, if you want to clear the CEL, just reset your ECU; but you probably want to find out what set off your CEL if you haven't already.

If all you want to do is reset the CEL, you don't need a laptop.
Open your hood.
Open the fusebox cover next the battery.
Pull out the backup fuse (rated at 7.5a)
Wait at least 7 seconds
Put the fuse back in
Start up the car, and you may not see the CEL again. If you do, you have an ongoing problem.

like i just told u. im a honda tech. i want to find the cable so i can use the laptop as my own personal h.d.s. and i wouldnt reset a d.t.c. by pulling a fuse anyway. that resets the whole e.c.u. rather just erase the code.

Btw, since you work there why don't you just their diagnostic tool?
