Default 2-degree Ignition timing?

I'll be taking my car to the shop soon to get a new clutch. Someone on H-A said his friends LS does a 14.7 with intake/header/exhaust/pulley/act clutch and 2-degree timing advanced. So I'm thinking of having them just increase the timing for me while my car is there. I think you have to run Premium gas after that...

Can anyone tell me what else I should/need to do if I am getting the ignition advanced 2 degrees?

Make sure it's no more than 18 degrees and you don't run less than 91 octane.
