Default Alarm Disarm

Is there a fuse for it? Do you have the manual for the vehicle? If you disconnect the negative (black) battery cable for 20 minutes that should clear out the car's computer (make sure you have the radio code handy for restart if it's the factory radio)...just a few thoughts

alarm should turn off if you put the key in the driver side door and turn.

Problem with the Vigor's factory alarm is that the electronic door lock actuator loses contact with the switch over time due to corrosion and will not send the signal to the alarm unit. The car will think that the door was not unlocked with the key, and will trigger the alarm to go off.

To remedy this, you can open the door from the passenger side like someone already mentioned, or fix the lock actuator. There's some great write-ups for this problem over at the Yahoo Groups site. You can find them over at acuravigorclub.com and read through some of the Timely Topics Articles, written by members of the Yahoo Group.

Hope that helps.
