Uh oh I can see a shitstorm on the horizon.
"But the NSX costs twice as much!"
"But the Corvette is poor quality!"
"But the Z06 will destroy it!"
etc, etc

Actually the NSX has 290 hp and I think it's about the same as a Corvette in a quarter mile give or take a few tenths.

The current (3.2L) NSX is faster than a C5, but a bit slower than a Z06. C&D TV got 4.5 (or 6?) 0-60 and 12.9 1/4 mile for two consecutive years in their NSX test. I believe they were 99 and 00 models. In the higher speed ranges (over 100) the NSX significantly out-runs a C5.

NSX-R has more to do with weight losses than hp.

The NSX is only faster than the automatic Corvette with the stock axle. All 6 speed Corvettes are faster than the NSX as well as the automatic with the "performance axle".

The Z06 is significantly faster and will also outhandle the NSX.

I know, I'm an SCCA auto crosser and I had an NSX. My Z06 on the same tracks is about 3 to 4 seconds faster per lap.

Those numbers prove the statement above is false. Neither C5 is faster than the NSX-T.

C&D TV tested the 3.2L NSX two years in a row and got 4.5 0-60 and 12.9 1/4 mile both times. That is faster than any C5 except the Z0-6, regardless of the tranny.
