Default car detailing question.....old stale smoke smell:

I am in the market for a new - used car and a 99 Acura RL with under 100000 miles on the clock caught my eyes. Its in great condition.......except the only problem: prev owner is a chainsmoker. Any suggestions on how to get the stale smokey smell out of the ride? Thanks guys!

A quick DIY fix would be to put a plate of baking soda to help absorb the orders.

If you want to have a professional tackle the problem, ask around until you find someone with a fogger they can use to really penetrate the entire vehicle.

They do sell things called "Oder Bombs" which you could use yourself and is similar in effect to fogger in the way it works. I believe www.topoftheline.com carries them.

Hope that helps.
