Default 1995 Honda Civic coupe vs 1995 Toyota Celica

Thread says it all. Basically it's a stock (except for wider exaust) 1995 Honda Civic EX vs a poorly maintained stock 1995 Toyota Celica.

1995 Toyota Celica: Toyota 2.2L i4 w/ 4 speed automatic transmission and cold air intake and racing exaust. He's giving it 170hp but I'm skeptical. Stock is 130hp.

1995 Honda Civic: Honda 1.6L VTEC i4 w/ 4 speed automatic transmission. Throwingdown about 125-145hp.

Okay, this is where it gets interesting. We both have automatic trannys.

His shift case is as follows: P-R-N-OD-2-L
Mine: P-R-N-D4-D3-2-1

Can the fact that my shift selector having more options give me an advantage? Should I start at 2 and shift up?

I really wanna make him eat some mostly stock honda shit. My 0-60 with my fart can is about 6.5 seconds. He hasn't times his.

0-60 time of 6.5...how exactly did you record this? a wristwatch? :eh: I would say for the integrity of your transmission, I would just leave it and drive and let the tranny do the shifting. I don't think you'll see any gains with shifting the auto yourself and you may just be putting extra wear and tear on the tranny.
