Default HU with amp problem

I just put the factory Head Unit in my 1998 Accord. The car was already prewired to an amp that's 1000 watts. The guy at the audio shop added 2 adaptors so the setup would work with my factory unit. Everything works but there's no bass coming out, not even when i play my cd's. Can someone tell me what went wrong.

He also added another switch so when i use the cd player, sound would come out. Without that switch, there won't be any sound coming out from playing the cd but there will be sound coming out of the AM/FM radio. The problem with this is when i turn the car off, and the switch is on, the radio stays on. Is there another way to have my radio function normally without that switch thing?

Thanks for reading.

The bass problem was taken of as the button for cross over was not on full. As for the button, the unit goes off as i turn off my car now...

The RCA setups were setup correctly for the speakers. The output level on the speakers were set to minimum and the cross over was not set to full. Thanks for the info though
