Default 600 watt amp

i just recently invested in a small sound system for my 96 honda accord ex coupe. i bought an 2 ch amplifier and i plan on bridging this to mono and getting the full 600 watts to power one subwoofer. my question is... is this going to take too much away from my battery and will i need an alternator?

also does anyone know of any good 6 1/2 in. speakers for under 80 dollars? i just need to replace the factory speakers and they dont have to be great

Pioneers. Just about the best cheap speakers you can buy. Something like these, you really can't go wrong!

even if it's a true 600W amp, your factory charging system (if in good shape) won't have a problem running it.

I'm not sure, but you should get rated power out of it, a great clue is always the fuse rating on the side of the amp....

hifonics should be fine.....at least it's not a kenford or rockwood, etc...

the general consensus seems to be that kenwood is a pretty cheap brand. i dont know if it doesnt perform well or its other issues such as overheating but all the people who i have talked to strongly advise staying away from kenwood. i havent heard too much about rockford fosgate amps. and there are supposedly knock off companies with names such as kenford or rockwood haha

Ummm. He said Kenford and Rockwood. And he meant Kenford and Rockwood, not Kenwood and Rockford. Kenford and Rockwood are both flea market crap amps. You know the ones that offer 1000 watts!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but has a 10a fuse.
